Ask Microsoft to make it possible to update on demand and blacklist driver updates (which have plagued many users - including those on Surface when Microsoft has pushed out buggy driver updates that wrecked performance or stability on those machines).

Windows has a way of trashing its own install by installing drivers over more appropriate drivers, so the OS may actually be at fault for some things driver related. What, exactly, is your point? That a Mac is not really any different than any other PC when running Windows? The benefit of Boot Camp is that Apple will download the drivers of your specific Mac Model and install them automatically when Windows Boots up for the first time, to ensure everything works as it does when running macOS (Ambient Light Sensor, BT, etc.). Some Dell Laptops need a Dell Driver to control the AirPlane Mode Button on the Keyboard, for example. Getting Boot Camp drivers is no different than needing to go to your OEM Website to get Graphics or Sound Card Drivers, or Drivers for things like a Touch Screen or Ambient Light Sensor. The rest of the hardware is fairly standard Intel PC B.S. This is no different from the fact that I need to download Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center to get proper drivers for my Microsoft Mouse on Keyboard, even on a Surface. Even their trackpad works better than practically anything in the Windows ecosystem. You get drivers directly from Apple, for the specific hardware in the machine. An Apple machine runs much of the same hardware as any other OEM device. It's built to run on any PC an OEM puts out there. the OP will definitely not find that here.Īgain, Windows is not built for Surface.
